The Zimbabwe bird cultivar is a compact perennial with multiple flowers located at the top of stalks. Leaves tend to be oval, smooth and about 5cm (2in) tall. Fruit tend to be very hot and measure around 2½cm (1in) long by ⅔cm (¼in) wide when fully mature.[3] Fruit colour is red when mature. Take great care when dealing to use gloves when harvesting as this pepper tend to measure between 30,000 and 50,000 Scoville heat units.[1]
