Ancho gigantea is a dark green, heart-shaped chilli variety. Fruits are 7-10cm (3-4in) and mature to red. One of the most popular chilies in Mexico. The standard Mexican variety used for sauces and stuffing, distinctive rich flavor without too much heat. This mildly hot, blocky pepper is widely used for making chile rellenos and mole. Known as Poblano when fresh, Ancho when dried. Bushy, everbearing, pendant type plant.[3]
