Arizona chiltepin is a chilli variety that grows wild in southern Arizona (USA). It is closely related to the Mexican types of Chiltepin but has a larger pod.[1]

Chiltepin plants grow in microclimates in the transition zones between mountains and desert, where the rainfall is typically very low. They grow under protective trees such as mesquite and oak, out of full sun and where it will be more humid.[1]
