Santa fe grande is a medium sized, attractive, open pollinated variety of chilli. The plant produces a very heavy crop of conical shaped thick walled 7cm (3in) fruits which have a pendant habit. The peppers start off as a pale yellow colour, before maturing to either a brilliant orange or a fiery red approximately 75 days after transplanting. The peppers have a slightly sweet taste and are about the same heat as a Jalapeno.[1]
