Helmsdale is a cultivar of Papillon lavender (Lavandula stoechas ssp. pedunculata). It is a robust bushy evergreen subshrub with aromatic grey-green leaves. Freely produced dark purple flowers with slender, deep burgundy purple bracts on top.
