Yellow scallop is a variety of pattypan squash. It is an old American Summer Squash variety that was introduced prior to 1860. Producing an abundance of golden-yellow pattypan type squash with a distinct flavour. An extremely hardy summer squash with a vigorous bush-type growth that is resistant to most squash bugs. As a bush type squash, Yellow Scallop takes up little space.[2]

Though Yellow Pattypan matures later than other varieties, it produces over a longer season and possesses a superior flavor to others.[2]

The delicious squashes are best harvested at 13cm (5in) across.[2]
