Stem and bulb nematode (Ditylenchus dipsaci) is a plant pathogenic nematode.

Identifying Features[edit]

Bulbs and stems become distorted and swollen. Young plants die, older plants produce soft bulbs that cannot be stored.[1]

Treatment[edit]

None. Destroy infected plants by burning.

Prevention[edit]

Do not grow onions, peas, beans or strawberries on the same land for 3 years.
