Vegetable/Fruit Classification[edit source]
The tomato is classified as a fruit botanically and a vegetable culinarily (in fact the term "vegetable" is not a botanical term so the two are not mutually exclusive).
My suggestion is that WikiGardener categorises tomato as a vegetable so that it kept separate from traditional fruits such as strawberries, blueberries, melons etc. If we class this as a fruit then technically we ought to class courgettes, cucumbers, squash, bean pods, corn etc as fruit too.
