Pimenta pitanga is a Capsicum baccatum variety of chilli, the rights to which are owned by the Banco de Germoplasma de Hortaliças, Brazil (indicated by the code BGH 4365).[3] The plant produces small round red fruit, which mature from green to red and are approx 3cm (1¼in) in diameter.[1]
