The Wenk's yellow hot chilli is a medium to hot thick fleshed waxy yellow pepper that ripens to a bright orange and then to red.[3] pepper is also sweet in flavor, when allowed to fully ripen to red.[1] Developed by the late Erris Wenk, of Alberquerque, New Mexico.[4]

It may have some Chipotle or Jalapeno as well as Anaheims, Fresnos, Banana/Wax peppers, and Pimento sweet peppers, in its ancestry. And it is definitely not a variety of Serrano.[1]
