Czechoslovakian black is a highly ornamental European heirloom variety that combines the qualities of earliness, adaptability, flavour and colour. This plant can grow upto 90cm (3ft) tall and has green foliage accented by purple veins and white-streaked lavender flowers. The 7½cm (2½in) by 2½cm (1in) pendant fruits are a blunt conical shape (similar to a Jalapeño) and mature from black, to purple and fianlly to a rich red in only 55-60 days.[1]
