The Chiltepin chilli (C. a. var. glabriusculum) are red to orange-red, ellipsoidal, and about 0.8cm (0.31in) in diameter.[2] Tepin is derived from a Nahuatl word meaning "flea". Tepin peppers are extremely hot, measuring between 50,000 and 100,000 Scoville Units.
