Sowing[edit]

Sow outdoors in a prepared seedbed 1-2cm (½-¾in) deep. Can be sown thinly in a broad drill and left unthinned if greens are required.[1]

Transplanting[edit]

Transplant when large enough to handle into well prepared, firm soil, allowing 15x15cm (6x6in) for greens and 38x25cm (15x10in) for hearted. Plant firmly with lower leaves just above soil level. Water well until established.[1]

Aftercare[edit]

Keep well watered and cover with fine netting to protect.[1]
